The Theory Exam in the Netherlands is a mandatory exam that you must take before you can get a driver's license in 2025.
The exam consists of questions about traffic rules, traffic insight and hazard perception. The purpose of the Theory Exam is to test whether you have sufficient knowledge of traffic rules and whether you are able to properly assess traffic situations and act according to the rules and standards of road safety.
The Theory Exam is administered by the Central Bureau for Driving Licenses (CBR) and can be taken both in writing and digitally.

Het is niet verplicht om het Theorie Examen te halen voordat je begint met praktijklessen. Het is wel verplicht om het Theorie Examen te halen voordat Rijcentraal.nl voor je Praktijk Examen reserveert.
